Lauren Halsey has spent her career building monuments to South Central, where her family has lived for generations. On September 29th, she brings Emajendat to the Hollywood Bowl, and Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace joins her.

Both belong to Los Angeles, and both begin with community. Flipper's opened in 1979 as a place where the whole city shared one floor, a spirit that lives on in the community Liberty Ross has built around it. Lauren's work is made from, and for, the people around her.

Emajendat is Lauren's word, which she defines as "whatever is in you to imagine." On the 29th it takes the form of a music festival, with Erykah Badu and The Alchemist on a stage of Lauren's design, joined by Anderson .Paak as DJ Pee .Wee, Flea, and the Charles Gaines Collective with Black Nile and Devin Daniels.
